Create custom roles to manage access to restricted data sources. Custom roles are able to access public data sources as well as restricted data sources that are assigned to them. Custom roles can also add restricted data sources and share them with other custom users with the same permissions.
Here’s a step-by-step guide for administrators to create custom roles in Sisu:
- Click the icon next to your name in the upper right hand corner of Sisu and select Administration.
- On the left side of the screen select Roles and permissions.
- Click Create a role.
- At this point you can name your custom role. As an example, if you’re granting permissions to members of the product team you could enter, “Product Team,” and then select the members you’d like to add to your “Product Team” custom role.
Note: if you can’t find someone, you may need to Inviting new users to Sisu.

After you’ve chosen the member(s) for your custom role, simply select the restricted data source to grant access, and click Save Role.
